I'm by no means a perfect human being, but I'm glad I'm able to laugh about myself. I've reorganized my gallery in the last hour, and naturally that means seeing a lot of my old pictures.

Gosh, some of this stuff looks hilarious! :XD:  Mostly I'm just sitting here, thinking Oh god, when? why? how? what is wrong with those limbs????

But apart from the obvious amusement, it's also a really uplifting experience; it's nice to see the improvement and changes in style, of course. A good reminder of how I started and that I do get better. Heck, in two years I'll probably look at my recent art and think Lol, remember back then?!
I've always been hard with myself and whatever I do, be it art, homework or even simply writing letters, so 99% of the pictures I upload(ed) are pictures I've been proud of at some point... even if I am laughing about the very same pictures now.

Oh man, this makes my day.
(I'm still laughing.) :bademoticon:

"Free-lance journalist who works part-time with NGOs and uses self-made comics and movies to bring cultural and social problems to a wider audience's attention". (my actual dream job. just haven't found a shorter name for it yet.)

Or, in easier words, a job which combines:

-art
-animation
-journalism
-human rights
-gender studies
-LGBTQIA
-different cultures

Right now that sounds almost impossible, especially because I want to be somewhat well-payed as well, buuut I want to believe that if you work hard enough most things are possible. And, man, why not a creative way to talk about social problems?! I enjoy reading newspaper articles and watching news, but I really want to use comics and animated movies as a medium to communicate with people about such things...

I'm not really active here anymore as most of you might have noticed. I will continue to upload art and browse through tutorials and look for inspiration, but if you want to contact me, it's best on my tumblr from now on.

So, there is going to be a Les Mis tv show, set in modern day America. I'm looking at this with mixed feelings.

So far I have only two positive views on tithat: One, sharing Les Misérables with the world is always a good idea if done right. Two, the story, its themes, and topics are timeless and therefore it will probably (especially for younger viewers) be easier to understand it (what is sad of course, because you should definitely all read the book - it isn't that hard.)

But I am also really scared that this is going to be stereotypical and mainstream entertainment tv, because it is already said to be a 'soap'. Sorry, but turning LesMis into a 'soap' is probably the last you should do with the material. I give the show a chance, of course, but not a big one. It's certainly not a coincidence that the plans are made after the success of the movie and I basically smell the following plot points:

Lots of romance (Maybe even Valjean - Fantine - Javert love triangle, because every tv show needs a love triangle, right?). Maybe Marius- Cosette -Éponine love triangle, because better than one love triangle is only a second one! Probably heavy Christian themes (what is all right (I really want the Bishop!)).
The Thénardiers either villains or comic reliefs. Amis like Grantaire, Joly and Bossuet as comic reliefs, too - and in Grantaire's case probably also the 'problem kid'. Hey, but maybe there won't be any Amis in the show at all! If Enjolras is going to have a girlfriend I will scream. No, really. If he is a masculine looking, athletic guy, I am going to scream. If they cut out the relationship between Grantaire and Enjolras I am going to scream. Basically, if I see anything that is only done for ratings from people who want '(brainless) easy entertainment', I am going to scream.
If you give them silly first names or change the names at all, I am going to cry.

Please someone tell me there is hope and I am overreacting.
